Looking for a Stiletto?
Sirius Stiletto satellite radios were feature packed and offered a lot to satellite radio subscribers. Coming as a shock to many is the fact that all models of Stiletto have been discontinued. As a merged company, SiriusXM has decided to move forward the portable satellite radio with a product called the XMp3.
To help in educating those who may not be familier with this radio we've put together a quick primer on why this radio is just as good as, and in many ways superior to the Stiletto.

XMp3 Frequently Asked Questions
-
Does this mean I have to get an XM Subscription?
Yes. Even though Sirius and XM have merged, their respective radios still require different subscriptions. The good news is that most of the stations have merged between services. In other words, your favortie station on Sirius is probably on XM. We have even compiled a handy Channel Comparison list here.
-
Will I have to get new equipment?
Yes. XM radios are not compatible with Sirius docks and the same is true the other way around. The XMp3 will come with a home dock so you can enjoy your new XMp3 as soon as you get it. Also, SiriusXM has just announced a product that will make transitioning over to XM hardware easier for everyone. It is a boombox that works with Sirius AND XM hardware so you can keep using any Sirius radios you already have.
-
But I listen to Howard Stern/Martha Stewart/Nascar/NFL/College Sports/Playboy Radio! Will I still be able to listen?
Yes. The XMp3 is compatible with the extended 'Best of Sirius' subscription. Once you subscribe your XMp3 will have access to 200+ channels of music, talk, sports, and entertainment 24/7.
-
Will this extra content cost more?
Yes. We understand the frustration that can be caused by ever having to pay more for something. But looking at it more carefully you'll see that at only $16.95 a month you are actually getting much more than you did before on your Stiletto. In fact, that's less than ordering pizza for a family of four once, two people going out to eat once, buying 6 gallons of gas once, going to the movies once, buying one new movie, buying one hardcover novel, getting one haircut.... the list goes on and on. But let it suffice to say that you would be getting a lot of content for less than $20/month.

What are the differences between the a Stiletto and an XMp3?
The major difference is the Stilettos had WiFi capability and XMp3s do not. The XMp3 does have the capability to record up to 5 stations at once so you'll never miss your favorite show again. Want to listen to that football game but also want to catch your favorite talk show? Now you can record one while listening to another. The XMp3 is also smaller and more lightweight. So in many aspects the XMp3 is a better version of the Stiletto.
There is also a slightly different interface. Here is a link to a virtual version of the XMp3 so you can even try it out before getting one.
-
What's the difference between the XMp3 and the XMp3i?
There isn't any as far as the product goes. The 'i' at the end is just a way to signify the XMp3 is ready to be used in an XMp3 PowerConnect vehicle dock, a revolutionary new system that makes it much easier to install satellite radio into your car without requireing any hardwiring or special installation skills.
