3.5RL(w/o GPS) 1996-2002 Custom Mount

Pro Fit International Vehicle Specific Mounts are made specifically to fit each vehicle. They use existing dash fittings so there is no need to alter the interior of your vehicle and they blend in well for a much cleaner and more finished look. The picture above shows where it installs in your car and included below are the installation instructions to give you an idea of how difficult it is to install into your vehicle (also, the pdf manual is available above by clicking on the pdf icon). On some cars the VSM can be easily installed without tools in a few minutes, in some cars it requires more effort.

We highly recommend using the Pro-Fit Easy Swivel in addition to the mount for clearance and tilting.


For ACURA 3.5 RL (w/o GPS) (1996-1998) TOOLS REQUIRED: 4or 5.035 feeler gauge, hook tool, 8mm socket, driver and extension, # 1 Phillips
screwdriver, protective cloth.

LOCATION: Right side of climate control
STEP 1. Begin by inserting the hook tool underneath the right rear corner of the
black trim bezel that surrounds the shifter lever. Pull upward to release one (1)
plastic clip. Perform this same action in the remaining three (3) corners on the
bezel, releasing three (3) more plastic clips. Slide the bezel over the shifter knob
and disconnect all wiring. Set the bezel aside. Remove the wood grain trim
bezel that surrounds the shifter. This bezel also has the ashtray integrated into it.
Insert your hook tool underneath the right rear corner of this bezel and pull
upward to release right rear clip. Insert the hook tool underneath the left rear cor-
ner of the bezel and pull upward to release left rear clip. There are two more clips
holding the bezel in place located in front of the shifter just behind the ashtray.
Insert your hook tool between the center console padding and the trim bezel on
the right side of bezel. Pull upward to release clip. Perform this same action on
the left side. Grasp the bezel and carefully pull it up and out and to the rear of
the vehicle simultaneously. Disconnect all wiring and set the bezel aside. Locate
two (2) 8mm hex head screws just below the radio. Remove these screws with
your 8mm socket, driver and extension. Set the screws aside.
STEP 2. Remove the air duct above the climate control unit by inserting feeler
gauge between the seam where the climate control and air duct meet. Apply
upward pressure to locate four (4) clips. Carefully apply upward pressure on the
right clip until you hear a click. Perform the same action on the remaining three
clips, working to the left. Once the four bottom clips are loose grasp the air duct
and carefully work loose the four (4) top clips. Hint: Air duct should pivot at
the top releasing the four clips. Set the air duct aside. Locate and remove two
(2) 8mm hex head screws holding radio/climate control in place. Set screws
aside.
STEP 3. Grasp the radio/climate control module and lift it out of its cavity. Place
it on a protective cloth on the center console. Do not disconnect the wiring.
Using your Phillips screwdriver locate and remove two (2) Phillips screws on
the side of the climate control. Place the Pro.Fit VSM® over these screw holes
aligning the holes and a centering pin. Replace the factory screws and tighten.
Install the phone holder onto the Pro.Fit VSM®.
STEP 4. Re-assemble the dash in reverse order securing all screws, wiring and
clips.

All instructions assume a drivers seat vantage point. Caution is advised when removing and reassembling
wood or plastic parts of a dash. Applying unnecessary force or pressure may cause a piece to crack or break.
Pro.Fit logo and part number will be right side up and readable when installed.
TOOLS REQUIRED: 10mm socket & driver and extension, #1 Phillips screwdriver, hook tool, protective cloth.

LOCATION: To the right of the climate control.
STEP 1. Begin by inserting the hook tool underneath the right rear corner of the

and disconnect all wiring. Set the bezel aside. Remove the wood grain trim bezel
that surrounds the shifter. This bezel also has the ashtray integrated into it. Insert
your hook tool underneath the right rear corner of this bezel and pull upward to
release right rear clip. Insert the hook tool underneath the left rear corner of the
bezel and pull upward to release left rear clip. There are two more clips holding
the bezel in place located in front of the shifter just behind the ashtray. Insert your
hook tool between the center console padding and the trim bezel on the right side
of bezel. Pull upward to release clip. Perform this same action on the left side.
Grasp the bezel and carefully pull it up and out and to the rear of the vehicle
simultaneously. Disconnect all wiring and set the bezel aside. Locate two (2)
black 10mm hex head screws just below the radio. Remove these screws with your
10mm socket, driver and extension. Set the screws aside.
STEP 2. Locate two (2) removable side panels on the left and right sides of the
center console just below the dash. Insert the hook tool behind the panel on the
right side. Pull outward toward the passenger side door to release two (2) clips.
Grasp the panel and pull toward you to release two (2) more clips. Set the panel
mount
aside. Remove the panel on the left side by inserting the hook tool behind it and
pulling outward toward the drivers side door. Grasp the panel and slide out the rear
tab that is attached to the panel. Set the panel aside. Using the 10mm socket, dri-
ver and extension, locate and remove two (2) black 10mm hex head screws that are
behind the side panels. Set the screws aside.
STEP 3. Grasp the radio/climate control module and carefully pull it downward
and out of the cavity releasing four (4) clips above the air vent. Place it on a pro-
tective cloth on the center console. Do not disconnect the wiring. Using your
Phillips screwdriver locate and remove two (2) Phillips screws on the side of the
climate control. Place the Pro.Fit VSM® over these screw holes aligning the
holes and a centering pin. Replace the factory screws and tighten. Install the phone
holder onto the Pro.Fit VSM®.
STEP 4. Re-assemble the dash in reverse order securing all wiring, screws and
clips.
