Pro Fit International Vehicle Specific Mounts are made specifically to fit each vehicle. They use existing dash fittings so there is no need to alter the interior of your vehicle and they blend in well for a much cleaner and more finished look. The picture above shows where it installs in your car and included below are the installation instructions to give you an idea of how difficult it is to install into your vehicle (also, the pdf manual is available above by clicking on the pdf icon). On some cars the VSM can be easily installed without tools in a few minutes, in some cars it requires more effort.
We highly recommend using the Pro-Fit Easy Swivel in addition to the mount for clearance and tilting.
TOOLS REQUIRED: #2 Phillips screwdriver, Hook Tools, 5/64 drill bit and drill
PARTS INCLUDED: Pro.Fit VSMTM, instructions, one (1) #8-3/8 screw
LOCATION: To the right side of radio.
Step 1. Begin by removing the panel directly below the steering
column. Remove three (3) Phillips screws located in the upper
left, lower left and bottom right corners of the panel. Insert a
hook tool directly below the steering column and pull gently
towards you to release three (3) retainer clips. Drop the panel
down, disconnect the wiring and set the panel aside.
Step 2. Open the glove box. Release the stops on both sides and
swing the glove box downward. Next, remove the center panel
directly under the radio assembly. There are six (6) Phillips
screws holding the panel in place - two (2) on the left side, two
(2) in the middle and two (2) on the right side. (See middle
picture.) Remove the screws and set the panel aside.
Step 3. Locate and remove four (4) gold, anodized, Phillips, hex-
6 screws
head screws from the bottom side of the radio and air vent
assembly. Caution: The metal edge under the radio assembly
is very sharp. Insert a hook tool between the radio bezel and the
dash padding. Move the hook tool around the radio bezel,
releasing the retaining clips. Turn the radio to the left as you pull
it out, exposing the right side. Locate and remove the factory
screw on the right side of the radio assembly. Place the Pro.Fit
VSMTM on the centering pin and reinsert the factory screw. Using
the top hole of the Pro.Fit mount as a guide, carefully drill a 5/64
pilot hole. Insert the provided 8 x 3/8 screw and tighten.
Reassemble the dash in reverse order making sure to reconnect all
wiring.
