Tracker 1998 Custom Mount

Pro Fit International Vehicle Specific Mounts are made specifically to fit each vehicle. They use existing dash fittings so there is no need to alter the interior of your vehicle and they blend in well for a much cleaner and more finished look. The picture above shows where it installs in your car and included below are the installation instructions to give you an idea of how difficult it is to install into your vehicle (also, the pdf manual is available above by clicking on the pdf icon). On some cars the VSM can be easily installed without tools in a few minutes, in some cars it requires more effort.


We highly recommend using the Pro-Fit Easy Swivel in addition to the mount for clearance and tilting.



TOOLS REQUIRED: #1 Phillips screwdriver, telemagnet, hook tool, 7/64 drill bit, drill.
PARTS INCLUDED: Pro.Fit VSMTM, one (1) #8x3/8 screw, instructions.
LOCATION: To the right of the radio.
STEP 1.
Pull ashtray out. Remove the ashtray by pushing down on lever and
pulling ashtray out. Inside ashtray cavity, locate two (2) Phillips
head screws on back side of cavity holding bezel in place. Remove
with Phillips screwdriver and set aside. With fingers, remove four
(4) temperature control knobs by pulling knobs back toward you.
Slide hook tool between lever slots on right corner of climate con-
trol unit faceplate. Pull back to release right clip. Repeat on left
side to release left clip. Do not disconnect wiring. Let face plate
hang.
STEP 2. Directly behind climate control face plate, locate and
remove two (2) Phillips screws holding radio trim bezel in place
(HINT: use telemagnet to catch screws) [one (1) on right and one
(1) on left.] Set aside. Grasp trim bezel near middle on both sides
with your hands and pull on trim bezel releasing two (2) plastic
clips. Let bezel hang to the side.
STEP 3. Locate two (2) Phillips screws to the right of the radio.
Remove bottom screw only. Align the Pro.Fit VSMTM with this
hole. Reinsert and tighten factory screw. Using top hole on the
Pro.Fit VSMTM as a guide, drill starter hole using 7/64 drill bit and
drill. Insert and tighten provided screw.
STEP 4. Reinstall trim bezel, faceplate, and ashtray using factory
screws and clips. Make sure all holes securing the trim bezel are
lined up properly in order for ashtray to slide in and out correctly.
Attach hang-up cup onto the Pro.Fit VSMTM.
