Windstar 1995-1997 Custom Mount

Pro Fit International Vehicle Specific Mounts are made specifically to fit each vehicle. They use existing dash fittings so there is no need to alter the interior of your vehicle and they blend in well for a much cleaner and more finished look. The picture above shows where it installs in your car and included below are the installation instructions to give you an idea of how difficult it is to install into your vehicle (also, the pdf manual is available above by clicking on the pdf icon). On some cars the VSM can be easily installed without tools in a few minutes, in some cars it requires more effort.

We highly recommend using the Pro-Fit Easy Swivel in addition to the mount for clearance and tilting.

TOOLS REQUIRED: Hook tool, 9/32 socket & driver, protective cloth.
PARTS INCLUDED: Pro.Fit custom mount and instructions.
LOCATION: To the right of the climate control.
STEP 1.
Begin by extending ashtray out fully. Using 9/32 socket and driver
remove two (2) 9/32screws along the side of ashtray. (One on
each side). Set screws aside and pull ashtray completely out and
set aside.
STEP 2.
Remove radio trim bezel. This is held in by six (6) clips [two (2)
by steering column, one (1) by cigarette lighter, one (1) by panel
above the ashtray, and two (2) below and left of the climate control.
Insert hook tool between trim bezel and dash pad in upper right
corner of trim bezel. Pull back to release first clip. With hands,
slowly work bezel loose to release remaining clips. Disconnect wire
harness for cigarette lighter. Let trim bezel hang to side. NOTE:
Use protective cloth between hanging bezel and dash to prevent
scratching.
STEP 3.
Attach hang-up cup onto Pro.Fit VSMTM. Using 9/32 socket and
driver remove 9/32 screws on right side of the climate control.
Pull right side of climate control out just far enough to slide
Pro.Fit VSMTM behind climate control mounting bracket. Line
mount up with the two (2) screw holes and centering pin hole. Push
climate control back into position and insert factory screws then
tighten down climate control and Pro.Fit VSMTM with socket and
driver.
STEP 4.
Re-assemble dash by connecting wiring and re-attaching trim bezel
and tighten screws. Replace ashtray.
