SIRIUS Live Portable Radios are the newest additions to the SIRIUS Satellite Radio family. They are called "Live" portables because, unlike previous SIRIUS radios, they allow the listener to receive SIRIUS broadcasts while he/she is walking around. Prior to the release of these "Live" portables, SIRIUS radios had to be plugged into a dock to receive the broadcast. Think of a SIRIUS Live Portable as being exactly the same as a traditional walkman - you can play either pre-recorded content or content that is currently being broadcast.
The live portables are new and there is not a clear roadmap of accessories yet, but we expect that there will be an abundance of accessories that will allow the Live portable to be connected to you home stereo, your car stereo or a portable speaker system.
The Live portables also *may* have the ability to record songs to MP3 format, to be re-played at a later time, or to be downloaded to your PC. |
