The S50 is a combination MP3 player and a SIRIUS Satellite Radio in one. The S50 is not like a walkman - you cannot listen to live SIRIUS while you are walking around. You can, however, record SIRIUS content (and mp3s) to the S50 when it is plugged in and then listen to the recorded content while you are walking around.

Q: Can I listen to Sirius with my S50 when it is not on the home or car dock?
A: No, the S50 will only receive live SIRIUS content while it is docked in the car dock, home dock or executive dock. You can record SIRIUS content or MP3s from your computers and listen to them while the unit is not on a dock.

Q: Do you sell replacement USB cables for the SIRIUS S50?
A: We sell replacement USB cables for the HOME DOCK. These USB cables are different than the USB cable that plugs directly into the S50. The Home Dock USB Cable only works with the home dock, but with that being said, the S50 Home Dock and Home Dock USB Cable can perform any of the computer related updates and transfers that the original USB did.

Q: What is different about the S50 and other SIRIUS receivers?
A: The S50 is not just a SIRIUS Satellite Radio; it is also a MP3 player. It can be used to receiver and to record Sirius Radio when it is docked on the Car or Home Dock only. When not placed on a dock, it can be used to listen to MP3s or pre-recorded SIRIUS content. The S50 cannot receive live SIRIUS Radio when it is not docked on the Home or Car dock.

Q: If a song that I like comes on the radio and I hit record on my S50, will it record from the beginning or the song, or from were I hit record?
A: The S50 will record from were you hit record. It will not rewind and start from the beginning of the song.

Q: Which Boombox will the S50 work with?
A: The S50 has an Executive Player with Powered Speakers, though it doesn't have the capability to use batteries since it is a highline system.

Q: I need a new Car Antenna for my SIRIUS S50 Radio, where can I find one?
A: The Dot Micro Antenna comes with the S50 and we would recommend using the Dot Micro.

Q: I need a new Car Power Adapter for my S50. Can I use any SIRIUS cigarette lighter adapter?
A: The S50 car dock uses a 5V power. Most other models use 12v power. It is imperative to not use a 12v power adapter for the S50. We carry the S50 5V Power Adapter.

Q: I just got my SIRIUS S50. It seems to be acting funny, and I can't figure out why. What should I do?
A: The first thing to check with on a new S50 is that that plastic piece in the battery compartment has been removed. If it is still acting up, you may want to try to update the firmware inside the unit using the USB cable and a computer. You can find the updates HERE.
