NOTE: In order to comply with a FCC ruling, Sirius has weakened the FM transmission strength in any radio manufactured after 2006. This decrease in strength may hinder your listening experience, especially if you plan on using the FM transmitter to broadcast Sirius to your radio in an area with many competing FM stations.

Options for improving audio quality
Good: The FM Direct Adapter
This will connect the SIRIUS receiver directly to your car's FM antenna giving you better sound with the quality of a strong FM station.

Q: Will the Starmate 5 pick up the A La Carte packaging from SIRIUS and XM?
A: Yes! This is the first radio in the SIRIUS line up that will receive the programing from both satellite radio providers. Upon activating the radio you will have the option of picking and choosing what programing you want from both providers. Please not that note all channels are available from XM on this radio.
Q: What is the difference between the Starmate 4 and the Starmate 5?
A: The Starmate 5 will fit and work with all docks, power cords, antennas, remotes and boomboxes that the Starmate 4 works with. The main difference is the Starmate 5's A La Carte programming capabilities. The Starmate 4 is able to receive the "Best of" programming, but not A La Carte. The Starmate 5 can be subscribed to "Best of" or A La Carte.
