Upgrading Your SIRIUS XM Radio Equipment

Like any electronic device, there is a limit to how long a satellite radio will last. If you are looking to replace your radio because you want more features or because your current radio has stopped working, we have a solution for getting your set-up going again.

Broken Radios

We have seen satellite radios last anywhere from 7+ years to a few months after the warranty runs out. A lot of it has to do with how it's being used. Things that can shorten the lifespan of a radio include moving it in and out of your vehicles and docks, vibrations, dirt/dust, long-term use, and more.

If your radio has finally stopped working, check the standalone options we offer. Many times, we have standalone radios that will match your previous radio or fit in the same dock.

Standalone Radios

If a standalone radio isn't an option, we can sometime fix broken radios. Check our Repair Services Page for full information.

Radio Upgrades

Sometimes a radio can not be repaired or easily replaced which means you have to completely upgrade your system. Initially it might seem like a hassle but there are several benefits of upgrading your whole system.

  • Future replacements or system expansions become much easier
  • New radios have excellent features including OnDemand listening, recording, wi-fi listening, and more
  • Expanded listening options, for example in home, boomboxes, and portable.

If you have decided to completely upgrade your system it helps to take the following steps before deciding on which radio to get and contacting us.

1. Review your subscription plan. Do you have a lifetime subscription, monthly, or yearly subscription?
  • Lifetime Subscription - If you have a lifetime subscription, you get a limited amount of radio transfers. It is worth considering if you have already received a comparable amount of service for the amount you originally paid for the lifetime subscription.
In other words, if you paid $400 for a lifetime subscription and have been enjoying satellite radio for more than 2 years, you've gotten your $400 worth. Is it worth dealing with a hard to find radio, hard to find accessories, and limited subscription options for the amount of money you are saving every month?
  • Monthly or Yearly Subscriptions - This offers the most amount of flexibility in switching radios. There are no limits to switching radios and your subscription options are flexible.
2. Write down the number of radios you have, your car kits, home kits, and boomboxes.
  • This information helps us configure the radios and kits you have. This also helps us find ways for you to save money by offering suggestions for new ways to listen.
3. Call, e-mail, or fill out the form below!
